We all know that metadata can be found practically everywhere we look today! And with metadata everywhere we would not simply have to excuse at all if we would know that metadata is used in our computers as well. Metadata is used in our computers in every process it does and even in saving simple files in our computers we would have a glimpse of what metadata is. When you save something on your computer you would need to pick a file name in order for your file to be saved. After you have chosen a file name for the file you want to save the computer would then save your file. After the computer has saved your file you then now can check it.

As you can notice aside from the file name you have you will get information such as the file name and the date it was created. This simple but useful information about your file would be very useful in times when your computer would want to access it. Also the partitions in your computer act as a metadata itself. If you have something saved up on drive D your computer would not go and look for it on drive C instead it would skip drive C and go directly on drive D for you have saved a file under that directory. It would make the computer do simpler tasks and it would benefit everything as well. You would have a much shorter wait time and your computer would not spend the whole day looking for your file as well.

Loading time would be shorter due to the fact that computers are using metadata. Also the internet is filled with metadata information. One superhighway for metadata information would be the search engines. Everything that is being searched on these search engines have something to do with metadata itself. You would have everything that you want to look for when using metadata. When searching for something in the internet you would normally use simple exact words to look for something, like you type in “blue car” you would be given a list of blue cars.

The search engine would use that information to search for the results that you want. Using metadata if can perform very fast search around the internet and you would have your result in no time. Without the help of metadata this feat would be really impossible to achieve. That is why metadata is one of the most important things that the world needs today, do not think of metadata as something that is not that important for it exists in almost everything that has value and data, with the Greek prefix meta that describes being among something really makes it easier to understand.

Many people today are struggling on how to understand metadata but the truth is metadata needs only a very simple explanation that anyone with the right brain can understand it. So what is metadata and how can we use it? With the proper knowledge of metadata you would not be searching the net for the simplest explanation you want. But hey since you are now reading this article better read it till the end for you to know what metadata is. The simplest way to understand things is to compare them to the daily things you use and interact with, thus making your learning curve move faster. With metadata you would not have a hard time looking for things, why? Read more to understand why.

Metadata has one simple answer, but you need to know metadata first before you can say how simple it is in the first place. People often see the meaning of metadata as something that is very difficult to understand. But the whole thing is that metadata is just a very simple thing that many people would really understand if put into a lot of attention. With all the things that is going on right now you need to make sure that you would keep on reading this article so that you can fully understand what metadata is. First we need to have a sample data to make a sample off.

So we choose music. With music you would have data like, genre, artist name, date of release and the album’s name. When talking about metadata all the answers to that first line would be answered. The genre would be rock, artist name would be Kiss and the date of release would be 1975 and the album’s name would be Kiss. This information that is given is the metadata for our Song data. Now you know what metadata is? You can take any data from virtually anything in this world and get metadata out of it as well. We have been using metadata all along and we didn’t know that this is actually called metadata.

This is how we label things in our world and we have been doing it for quite some time now. This would be your informative way on how to understand how metadata works. The next time you would be asked on what is metadata you would know what it is all about. Now you know why companies would need your name and all the information that you think is private, they would use all these information from you and file them as metadata in order for them to have a complete data of their employees. So now you know what metadata is try to find some metadata information yourself!

Having problems understanding metadata? Well the simplest way to describe metadata would be metadata is data about another data. Meaning metadata is what we call today as niches. Information about something that can be much more specific in nature, In our modern day lives today metadata is used in everywhere you go and look. With everything from buying groceries to paying your bills metadata has got something to do with it. Now one good example would be buying groceries. When you buy groceries you would get aisles right? Inside huge groceries you would have aisles labelled to what their purpose is.

You may have the “can goods” section in which you would have everything in can in that section. Inside that section would be canned goods and everything that is inside a can. You would then see different types of can goods, from salmon to canned beans. That’s the simplest way to find metadata. Making sure that you would get everything that specifically and get to it that fast, with metadata you would be sure that you would be searching for those things that fast and that simple. Without metadata you would have a hard time looking for the things that you would want to look for.

Now when talking about paying your bills, in your bill you would see all the metadata you would need in order for you to pay your bill. First you would see your name, then your address, your account number and the amount of electricity you have used then on the bottom you would find your amount due that you need to pay in time. That information that are scattered along your bill would be the metadata about your profile. This is the electric company’s metadata about you, without all these data about you they would have a problem billing you the right bill every month. Now you know that even companies find it hard not to have metadata now right?

Now let’s try and talk about school. In school you will find all the information you would need about a single person. Especially if you go to the records section, there you can see different student profiles and the things that would go under it. For example you are in the records division of a certain college. You will find the students name, the student’s major, the student’s year in college and the tuition you are paying would be considered as metadata. Without this data the school cannot charge you for what you owe in going to their school. This is how everything works in the school and this is how important metadata is to them. So the next time you are asked about metadata talk about all these things so that the person asking you would know.

Metadata is a word in which only a few people really know what the answer is. But little do people know that we are using metadata in every single day of our lives. The information that we use in order to communicate and live our lives in the daily basis revolves around metadata. Why? Everything that is considered data about another data is called metadata. These are small things that you need to know for they are really crucial in our daily lives. Without metadata we would be lost and everyone would have a hard time knowing where and what to do without it.

Everything you see has got something to do with metadata. The label in your coffee, the burger you just ate everything can be turned into data and everything that has data on it can be considered as metadata as well. Well about the burger, if you are talking about the burger then you would be thinking that the burger would be considered as a data. With your burger you would have lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and patty and everything that goes into a fast food burger. These are considered parts of the burger and the parts are the metadata itself. Consider yourself looking for the best thing that you would want to think about, like the phone directory.

The phone directory is just flowing with metadata all over the place. You would start out with names, with names you would then be given a metadata that would be followed with a phone number and the address, and the state. This is complete information of the name you just search on the phone book. That is called metadata, data about the data itself. Having the name as the partial data and having all the information that you need as metadata. Schools, offices and everything uses metadata to keep track of daily progress of everything. This is one way of keeping everything into an orderly fashion, this way keeping the data in this manner would make sure that you would have easy access to all the things that you want.

Also our computers are one of the most highly used sources of metadata today. With computers having very fast processes it would be impossible for our computers to work this fast without metadata at all! With codex and metadata working together we are given a very fast output and input computer that can easily give you results in just seconds of your time! This is a very simple explanation on how you can understand metadata, I hope now you know what metadata is and you would not have a hard time explaining to people what it is. Metadata is everywhere and without it we are nothing!

The first time I heard about metadata I was thinking of a term that’s not that common. But as I found out metadata is a very simple thing to learn if you just know how to put things together. So what is metadata? Metadata is the data about a data, so it’s basically information about the main information you are holding. For example you have the yellow pages in front of you, even the yellow pages have metadata! When you look for a place that you once ate and you forgot the place you look it up the yellow pages or the internet.

Let’s say you use the yellow pages to look for that restaurant that you once ate at. On the yellow pages you will see all the information that is needed. You will see the name of the restaurant, the location of the restaurant and even the phone number of the restaurant. Some may have online websites that they can redirect you to as well. All these information about one single thing is called metadata. With this data you can now easily go and eat at that place that you once ate. Metadata can come in many different forms but would still come out as one metadata. This means that every data that you know about a thing is called data.

For example you are talking about a person. You would get arrows and find all the things that make that person who he is. You would start off with his name which is John. The work he does which is a plumber, his height which is 6’5” and his hair colour which is dark brown. All those secondary information about the main information of John is called metadata. Now do you get what metadata is all about? It is just a string of information that’s needed in order for you to get all the things that you would need. In this case we are talking about the person’s information.

You can do this to everything that you can see now. For example your cup of coffee, you have a cup which has a brand, and inside your cup you have coffee in it, what kind of coffee? The answers would be called metadata. That’s the simplest way to put things out if you are talking about metadata. Still not having fun yet? You can get metadata from practically everything that you are starting at this moment. Even this article you can find metadata from. Who wrote this article, what date it was posted and what’s it all about. Metadata is important if you want something to have reference from or if you are looking for something metadata can be very useful in your daily lives.

With all the information you are passing everyday in your house, in your work and everywhere you go you would not probably know that you are handling metadata information all the time. You can find metadata information in practically anywhere you look at, with all the possible things that you can think of in this world metadata is one of the most common things that people handle every single day of their lives but without knowing that they are handling metadata all the time! Every information that we know about something is called metadata. When you check out profiles on your social networking site you are actually looking on metadata.

So what is metadata? Metadata is simply information about information or data from data. So if you are looking at someone else’s profile on some social networking site you are actually reading metadata. Metadata information is used and passed all over the internet. You would see a profile and you can see the person’s name, address, and their jobs. All that information that you read is all metadata! Amazing right? With all these information staring at us in the face we would have a hard time knowing which is which. But everything is actually metadata!

Metadata can be used in many forms if we just know where to use them for. Even large companies have place for metadata, all the information they have from their goods or the goods they are buying or selling includes metadata. Everything should include metadata or they would have a hard time keeping track of everything that goes. This is a very important thing that every people should know about! Knowing that metadata is just beneath our noses would really make a huge difference. When you think about metadata you would now know why people would have a one single answer.

That would be data, metadata has helped us in many aspects of our modern day lives. Making it possible for us to use the internet in such an extent that we would make sure that everything is done in the fastest way possible. The internet is using metadata every single day, for example the search engines. Without metadata to guide them it would be possible for search engines to function. With metadata search engines can perform inhuman search prowess in just a few seconds. This is because computers are wired this way. Making sure that people would get the information they need to make sure that we get it on the right time. The next time you would search the internet you know that metadata has got something to do with it, that explains why you need to type in specific words to get specific answers on the internet.

There are only a few people that know what the true meaning on what is metadata is. Metadata is in simple words is essentially data about other data. So practically everything that you find from something is called metadata, for example. You have a man, you would have his name, his age, his job and what he makes a month. All those data are considered metadata. This would imply to everything that you want to know about metadata itself. The most common use of metadata would be found in our computers. Our computers are wired to think through the usage of metadata.

With all the processes that go through the motherboard every single second metadata is crucial in the working stage of a computer. An easy way to pin that out would when you save a file in your computer. When you save a file you would be asked to input a name for your file. After that the computer would save your file and put in extra metadata that would ensure the easy location for the file. The computer would add information such as the file size and the time it was created. For next time you would want to look for your file the computer would use these metadata to open up your file that quickly.

Without metadata computers cannot work as fast as they can. And without the proper saving ability a computer has it would not be as fast as you thought it would be. With all the possibilities that are into having to compute for a process in your computer metadata is one of the most important things that would make your computer run. Now with online metadata, metadata is used everywhere in the internet! From your favourite search engine that uses metadata to get all the things that you would want to look for. Search engines use metadata to store information so that they would not have a hard time looking for things.

This is how the internet has been working for quite some time now and this is how everything is done on the internet as well. With everything that is said you need to know that it would be great if you knew that metadata is used everywhere. Now that you know that metadata can be seen everywhere you practically look you would not be confused on what metadata is in the future. We all label things in a manner that we are used to, that manner of labelling is called metadata in which we would have different levels of information from the main information itself. Play around and look for other usages of metadata, now you know the world cannot leave without metadata.

Metadata can be found anywhere if you would just look on the right places. But where can it be applied? It can practically be applied into everything our world knows. With everything in this world practically having data on it we would be able to find data of the data in everything that we choose to find data off. Did I lose you? Well for example, when talking about Music the metadata for music would be the song title, song lyrics, performed by whom, date of the recording and genre. That alone you have taken out information from the whole information itself. That is called metadata! So just imagine all the things that you can have metadata from, you would be amazed on how many things that you can find data!

With practically everything in this world you can find data on you would not have a hard time looking for metadata. But what’s the use of metadata? Well for the most obvious reasons you may have the chance to document everything by the use of metadata. Now everyone wants to have a piece of something right? That alone tells you that metadata is everywhere! When talking about schools metadata is everywhere you look at a school. First the students, if you are talking about the metadata of students you would think about their names, ages, their favourite subjects and their teachers. With data like that you can have everything you can want.

But what does it have to do without modern lives today? Where is metadata commonly used? Metadata is commonly used on internet sites in which the website would make metadata from the things that it would look for. With all the information that is needed in order to make a process metadata is somewhat very important to computers and the internet as well. One good example of metadata centre would be the search engines, search engines search the web for whatever you type in the search box. You need to make sure that you would type in the specific thing that you want or you would be given random things that came out from the word you want to search.

We can take one search engine and make it an example. For example Google, you can search anything and Google and it would give you the exact match on what you are looking for. This is because Google is using metadata to make sure that it would get all the complete information needed so that the search would be done. This is a very simple way of putting it together and that’s how computers do the metadata thing. With metadata in practically everywhere you look at you would now know that metadata is very important for us.

Metadata is practically everywhere if you just know where to find it. Metadata is essentially data about another data. The most common place for metadata to be found is the library. With all the books that are piled up the library you would have a hard time looking for the one that you want to read. With this problem librarians found a way to make sure that people that visit the library would not have a problem looking for the books that they want to read. With numbers and symbols they made sure that going to the library would be a different experience.

With numbers and symbols people are now able to look for the books that they want. With books piling up all over the place without something that can keep those in order for easy access would need you to look for a book with your bare hands in hours! Not to mention that when you look for a book without names or numbers it would take you days before you may find the book that you want. This labelling method is called metadata. Librarians use each and every single information that you get from a book like who wrote the book, what year it was published and of course the title of the book. This would make it very easy for you to find the book that you want with ease.

Now metadata isn’t just found in any library that we have today. Metadata is well used in the internet today as well, with websites using codex you would sure find metadata in those codes if you just look on the right places. Codes are full of metadata for the computer to read it faster. One example would be search engines, let’s take for example Google. Google uses metadata to search for the things that the user commands it to. So if you search for a car Google would come up with millions of answers pertaining to the word car. No matter what car it is as long it is a car you will have it.

That’s why when you where first taught on how to use Google it is strongly recommended that you type in the specific words you want to narrow down your search to more than half of what you would have typed. This metadata technique has been used for quite some time now and everywhere you look there are things that fall down as metadata. Making our world a much more simple place to live in. Imagine a world without metadata and you would be lost just like that. With companies using metadata to keep data on their projects and employees they would shut down.

People would be wondering what metadata is and what it can help us with in our lives. Well metadata has been used for quite some time now that even we did not know that was metadata we were using all the time. Have you been into a library that’s just full with books? A library so big that you would literally use ladders to get up to the top most part of the stack just to get the book you want! So you need something that would make it very much easy for you to look for the books that would really fit into what you are looking for. So what the library does is that they would make sure that you would not have a hard time looking for the book you want.

That’s why they make sure that each book is properly labelled. With the numbers and symbols that represent each genre of the book you would not be having a hard time looking for each aisle of the library for the book you are looking for. This way you would also be making sure that you would not be wasting all the time you have. With proper number arrangements you would be able to find on what you are looking for in no time. This is what we call metadata, the data that is essentially for the data, get it? With metadata you would not be having problems looking for the things that you would want to look for in the first place.

With this you would have a very easy time in which you would not need to look for the book itself. In other scenarios metadata is also in great use until today. With computers working with fixed mindsets you would be literally blown off your feet on how a computer looks for things. This would not be even possible with the metadata encrypted in their system. Have you tried on saving a file on your computer? In saving a file you need to make sure that you would want to name the file right? So when naming the file you would then be helping a part of the metadata filling system.

Once you are done choosing the appropriate name for the file it would be the perfect time to save it. Once it is saved the computer would also include the date the file was saved and not to mention the file size of the file you have saved on your computer. This way you would know how huge your file is and at the same time know the exact time you saved the file at. This is metadata used by your computer so that when it would look for this file in the future the computer would not have a hard time looking for it.
